Name: Thelred Forhe
Where he lives: Corus, at an Inn in Lower Corus
Place of Birth: Corus
Age, Date of Birth: 16, 5th of May
Occupation: He works as a dishwasher in an Inn some walking distance from the market gate
Status (noble, rich commoner, peasant, priest, etc): commoner
Magic: none
Family: Eiwin (44), mother Eren (39), brother Cal (19), brother Hanen (6)
Appearance:
He is of average height, with a rather slight and slender build. He has tousled dark brown hair and gray eyes. He has finely
lined features, and lashes that make him appear somewhat feminine at first glance.
Clothing:
He wears the traditional tunics, breeches, and boots, but since they are hand-me-downs from his older brother, who is of much
larger stature, so they don’t fit very well.
Everything is in brown of varying shades. He wears a thin silver ring on his left hand which is of questionable origin, but
of priceless sentimental value.
Personality:
Meek, and somewhat shy, he thinks himself far more stupid than he actually is.
Growing up in a sheltered home makes him very inexperienced with the lower levels of society, and
he sometimes regrets leaving home. But he is also stubborn, and wants to prove to himself that he
can become whatever he wants.
He is eager to please and easily idolizes others.
He intensely dislikes letting his temper have the best of him, and always regrets the occasions when it does happen. He is
very impatient with things that are slow, and sometimes he’s quick to start projects, but they fall to the ground pretty
quickly, because he has a pretty short attention span when it comes to some things.
He is a very heavy sleeper, and he sleeps a lot, and if he’s left alone he’d sleep for half a day.
He really likes when he can take it easy and would like to avoid stressful jobs, contradicting the fact that he wants such
a dangerous job as a rogue.
He has a tendency to seek out strong people who can act as some sort of protection.
Strengths:
He is good at running, and evading. His slender build allows for grace and speed, and that gives him a disposition to stealth
and burglary (also since he's good at getting away). He has a nimble fingers and is quite fond of opening locks and otherwise
being where he’s not supposed to be.
His stubborn desire to become like his friend, and the fact that he sets aside most moral qualms, because in a sense he believes
that something his friend does can’t be wrong.
Weaknesses:
One of his basic weaknesses would be that he's inexperienced with life in general, and somewhat gullible when it comes to
people who seem to be perfectly trustworthy, but most of the time they turn out to be anything but that.
He is afraid of making mistakes, and sometimes this keeps him from doing anything at all.
He is like a cat in a bath if someone threatens him with pain, or other more unpleasant things.
He gets awfully distracted, and sometimes gets very frustrated when he can’t learn something fast enough. And sometimes
when distracted he gets very clumsy and flustered, which isn’t something you want to happen when you’re in someone
else’s house in the middle of the night.
He has had very little contact with any creature larger than a dog, so he is rather scared of horses and cows, and it would
be very unlikely to find him riding one of them.
History:
His story is rather uneventful, he grew up in a family where his father was out most of the time
working, and his mother was at home taking care of the house and kids.
His older brother travels with his father, and since he is quite close to Thelred, he often brings
home curious trinkets for him. His younger brother is at the age where children are extremely adorable, and he clings to his
mother’s skirt and follows her around.
He has been taught the basics of math and writing and reading by his father who’s a merchant.
The most eventful thing in his life would have to be a boy whom he has known since they were
small. His name was Ane (pronounced ‘Ayn’), and he was a brash and demean character, and sometimes Thelred would
be quite intimidated by him, but Thelred was also one of the few who were able to see his good sides.
Thelred’s mother wasn’t all that happy that he was playing around with the son of a prostitute, and forbid him
to be around him. But it’s one of the few times that Thelred has actually rebelled against her and done against her
will.
When the two of them would get in fights, Thelred would either hide behind Ane or flee. Of course this made him horribly ashamed
when he saw Ane again, but Ane seemed to forgive him none the less (after a few minutes of verbal abuse).
He was the one taught Thelred how to steal from the stands in the market place, and how to climb the rooftops. Not long ago
he left, mentioning that he was going to put his questionable talents to use, and Thelred left as well to try to follow him.
The problem arises when he figures out that he has no real clue as where to look, but he thinks that he knows Ane well enough
to know that he’s somewhere in Lower Corus.
What is your character most ashamed of?
Since he is superstitious, he carries around a lot of amulets that he got from his brother, and he has a habit of checking
for ‘creatures of darkness’ under the bed or in closets before going to bed.
He is also ashamed of abandoning Ane so many times.
What makes your character unique?
He actually had a good time growing up, and is pretty unaffected by relieving others of their possessions because, after all,
that’s what he grew up with. He is also something of a pack rat, collecting all sorts of junk.
